Biography
Dr Kazim Sanikullah is Acting Coordinator for the Accelerated Communicable Disease Control unit at the WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific, leading regional efforts on communicable disease control and elimination.
A Fulbright Scholar, medical doctor, and public health specialist, he has over two decades of experience leading and supporting large-scale public health efforts with WHO, the Global Fund, governments, and international NGOs across Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, North America, and the Pacific.
His expertise includes communicable diseases (including neglected tropical diseases, tuberculosis, malaria, and HIV/AIDS), health systems strengthening, transformative primary health care, multisectoral actions, partnerships for health, and integrated, people-centred approaches to reaching the vulnerable and hard-to-reach populations.
