The World Health Organization (WHO) has the pleasure of inviting you to attend the live online launch of the PROTECT Technical Package for Drowning Prevention.
About the event
Drowning claims more than 300 000 lives each year and remains a major, yet highly preventable, public health and development challenge.
The PROTECT Technical Package for Drowning Prevention provides governments with practical, evidence-informed guidance to strengthen policies, legislation and systems that prevent drowning and promote safer interactions with water.
Join colleagues from around the world as we officially launch the package, explore innovative policy approaches that can help save lives, and hear practical examples of how policy is preventing drowning and saving lives across Africa. The event will bring together leaders from government, the United Nations, academia and civil society to strengthen collaboration and accelerate action on drowning prevention.
